Report: Iran Builds ‘Smart’ Submarine

- Iranian state radio is quoting the country’s defense minister as
saying Iran’s military capabilities “increased remarkably” after the
construction of a new submarine.
General Mostafa Mohammadnajjar says the submarine is “smart,” unmanned and has radar-evading capabilities.
Tuesday’s report did not elaborate on its size and technical specifics, and did not say whether the submarine had been tested.
Iran occasionally announces production of advanced weapons. Since
1992, it has been active in producing military tanks, missiles,
torpedoes, as well as guided bombs and airplanes.
But little is known about Iranian submarines, beyond announcements
years ago that Tehran bought some Russian subs and was to produce its
own, smaller-sized ones.
More great news out of Tehran today. So let’s see, Iran has funded, materially supported and encouraged the”insurgents” in Iraq. Their President calls openly for the destruction of Israel. They are actively pursuing, if they don’t already have, nuclear arms capability. Iran is aiding despotic regimes like North Korea. And today, they let slip that they possess a “smart” sub, able to avoid radar and is unmanned.
In the Words of Our Enemies, author Jed Babbin has a chapter entitled Iran: The Central Terrorist Nation, Long before September 11 (it’s chapter 5). He quotes Ahmadinejad, “The whole world knows that America and England are the enemies of the Iranian nation.” and “The Security Council, in its present condition, is illegitimate. Its resolutions are illegitimate.” More significant are the words of the prominent Shiite clerics, the power behind the president. Ayatollah Mohammed Emami-Kashani during a Friday Sermon at Tehran University: …You speak of terror and al Qaeda, have you forgotten who the mother and father of al Qaeda are? America is its father, and Israel its mother. It is the illegitimate child of these powers. You yourselves have brought it about… As the crowd chants Allh Akbar. Khamenei is the leader. Death to America. Death to England. Death to hypocrites. Death to Israel.
In reality Iran has been at war with us since 1979. It is a “semi”-cold war in that while we are not in open hostilities, their oft-stated goal is our destruction. Until now, they have supported attacks on us through funding, training, and supporting surrogates.
Ask yourself, could Iran equip their new sub with a missile? Is it possible for them to navigate it off the coast of Israel? North America? England?
No, the sky isn’t falling and this report is another one of many of Iran’s military build-up. I just don’t want Americans to forget. To forget 9/11. The USS Cole. The embassy bombings in Africa. These are not people that we can speak with reasonably. Some food for thought:

The first quote from a megalomaniac, genocidal killer who the good guys tried to deal with through appeasement. The second quote from a man who faced down a superpower, called evil by its name and won the Cold War. The third from antiquity, for human nature has not changed over time. Our country must be strong, militarily and economically, to be prepared to deal with those who would extinguish the light of freedom for the rest of the world.
